The tiege hanley In-depth review
Who is the owner of tiege hanley
Tiege Hanley is a men’s skincare brand from US, founded by Aaron, Rob, Kelley & “The Chemist” with a mission on creating an uncomplicated skincare system for men that is accessible, affordable and clinically relevant for regular guys. It is one of the earliest subscription model with a comprehensive men’s skincare system that grew exponentially for the past few years. So does Tiege Hanley really live up to its hype? or Overhype? (Favourite quote from another Youtube star Robin James from Manforhimself)
tiege hanley packaging – Unboxing experience
Whenever you receive a box of products from Tiege Hanley especially your first time into your subscription, you will receive a nice How To Use Guide. It has a step by step guide on which product to use sequentially, and also recommended the usage amount for each product.
Undeniably, I would give credit to the packaging for doing a good job in creating a consistent premium quality packaging for each of the product. It a nice matte black tube to house the skincare products. Also for some of product such as the Super Serum and Eyes, it is contained in an easy to use pump bottle. In total, the products they sent is a 30 day program.
The Tiege Hanley System
Overall there are 5 types of systems today, which recently they have introduced the Acne system.
- First: Skincare System Level 1
- Second: Skincare System Level 2
- Third: Skincare System Level 3
- Fourth: Acne System Level 1
- Fifth: Acne System Level
For this review, I will be covering Skincare System Level 3
Tiege Hanley product Line
In this review, I am going all of the products I have received. The box that Tiege Hanley team who has kindly sent over contains the Level 3 Skincare System:
- Wash
- Scrub
- Super Serum
- Eyes
- AM Moisturizer
- PM Moisturizer
What was not included is the Acne Cream which was launched not long ago.
Tiege hanley – Wash
This product main purpose is to remove any dirt or oil on your face. It was recommended to use both Morning and Night. As a guy who lives in humid Singapore climate with mix skin type (oily and dry) with some sensitivity, I mainly uses it at night after coming back from work. This is because washing it too often might over dry my skin. However, if you have a normal skin type, you can wash it twice daily with WASH.
I find this cleanser mild and not over intrusive. I did not experience over dryness nor redness when using. Trust me, my skin can be quite sensitive when comes to harsh product with fragrances.

Tiege Hanley – Scrub
When I arrived to this step, I was a bit apprehensive because of my skin sensitivity. Hence I used slightly lesser than the recommended amount. The Scrub is used to exfoliate your skin, removing the dead skin or harmful bacteria residing in your pores.
My experience with this product was there’s some cooling + burning sensation. I suspect the the content of Citric Acid is quite high that have irritated my skin. Don’t get me wrong, Citric Acid has anti-aging properties. It’s just my skin might be a little sensitive to it. If you have a normal skin type, just gently scrub your face, and only use twice a week, not more!

Tiege hanley – Super Serum
Here’s comes the super product. Once your face is cleansed it’s type to give it a boost. The Super Serum is designed to bring back your Young James Bond Days, if not your youthfulness. This product packs a punch of ingredients to remove your wrinkles, provide a firmer skin appearance with better circulation. With just 1 pump, gently spread and rub over your skin, and you are done – Superman.
I have no issue with this product surprisingly.

Hustling through late nights either with your work or your little one who keeps you awake, resulting those eye bags popping under your eyes like a zombie? This is where Tiege Hanley’s eyes comes into play. This eye cream contains Caffeine and Acetyl Hexapeptitde-8 to increase circulation and ease the muscle contractions that cause bags. Having said all these, a sufficient amount sleep is still important to get enough rest for a good health.

Tiege hanley – AM Moisturizer
After washing, it’s important to keep your skin moisturized. The Tiege Hanley Morning Moisturizer not only hydrates your skin, but also contains SPF 20 to protect you from the sun. With a pea size, it is sufficient for you to rub over your face. I really like this product because it does not result my face feeling oily, and more importantly, it does not trigger my sensitive skin. Overall, this a lightweight product suitable for most skin types.

Tiege hanley Review – PM Moisturizer
After washing your face during the evening, applying the evening moisturizer is an act of great service to your skin. This moisturizer is designed to be much heavier compared to the morning moisturizer. It’s purpose is to retain as much moisture on your face without drying out your skin throughout the night. The Tiege Hanley’s PM Moisturizer contains Niacinamide rejuvenating properties such as Niacinamide to keep your face firm and elastic.
In my experience, I found this product is a bit too heavy for me and not so suitable to my sensitive skin. It resulted in slight redness and itchiness. Based on other reviewers, it seems like normal or oily skin works pretty fine for them. Based on the ingredient check below, I suspect the Zea Mays Starch and Stearic Acid might have triggered my skin.

Closing thoughts on Tiege Hanley Review
Overall, I felt at least for the Skincare System is more suitable men with normal skin.
Is Tiege Hanley Good For Dry Skin?
Personally, I would say it’s still OK but use it with caution. The reason is because there’s still some Ammonium lauryl sulfate in the WASH cleanser. However, make sure you pair it with AM Moisturizer to hydrate your skin after the wash
Is Tiege Hanley Good For Oily Skin?
If you have a mild oily skin, I would still recommend this product. However, if you have serious oily skin, you might want to avoid products with Isopropyl Palmitate Coconut Oil, Zea Mays Starch and Stearic Acid. Ultimately, give a try first as the composition on the ingredients above are not specified. Your skin might still actually able to tolerate with it.
Is Tiege Hanley Good For Sensitive Skin?
I would not recommend some of the products (PM Moisturizer, Scrub, Super Serum) if you have sensitive skin like me due to peptide content. Having said that, I would still give Tiege Hanley a thumbs up because of their customer service for being honest with me when I raised my concerns about my sensitive skin. They did warn me that the PM Moisturizer and Super Serum might be a bit too heavy , contain peptide ingredients which might irritate my skin. If you acne, I strongly recommend you consider their Acne System
In terms of the product volume, I felt that maybe the Super Serum can be more since it is recommended to apply twice a day.
Is Tiege Hanley worth?
Pricing wise, this is an affordable product as compared to the bigger brands out there. I think it’s worth to spend $25 – $55 per month to ensure your skin is well taken care of if your skin type are normal, or mildly sensitive or dry. If you are young in your 20s, and keen to start to taking care of your skin, the Skincare System Level is good enough. If you have been through life and continue the fight at 40s and baove, Skincare System Level 3 is the way to go.
Is Tiege Hanley Natural?
Not completely. The ingredients are a mixture of natural, vegetable-derived and synthetic raw materials as mentioned in their website here.
Above all else, Tiege Hanley created an uncomplicated system for men’s skincare. With the easy how to use guide, I have able to follow them with ease. Hopefully, the Tiege Hanley team read this review and probably produce a “Sensitive Skin System” with less harsh ingredients.
I hope this honest Tiege Hanley Review helps you in deciding if Tiege Hanley is worth for you to explore. Do let us know what are your experiences, or if you have used any quality skin care products, share with us in the comments below!
