Introduction

Knock Out is a Singaporean brand that aspires to create hair and skincare solutions that are suitable for men living in Southeast Asia. And whilst this brand is relatively new, they do have a rather extensive range of hair styling products. For now, however, let’s dive into one of their well-known products – Knock Out Matte Clay.

Design

Sleek black plastic packaging with a retro vibe and a huge KO branding on its cover.  It weighs 4oz (118g), so do make sure you have this checked if you’re traveling with it.

Scent

Refreshing and manly cologne with a tinge of sweetness.

Texture & Application

As expected, this matte clay has a smooth texture, and does not feel greasy despite it being oil based. It’s a breeze to apply it on hair. For medium short length hair, it requires around 1- 2 dime-sized scoops of productfor full application. It creates good volume and adds texture to hair.

Work a small amount through damp or dry hair and style as desired. Remember that a little goes a long way. For more hold and grip, simply add more product. On the other hand, for a slightly smoother application with low shine, apply to damp hair or mix a splash of water with the clay. For a matte look, simply apply to dry hair.

Washability

Requires washing with regular shampoo and conditioner twice for complete wash-off.

However, after the first wash, it does add a nice volume to your hair the next day. ;)

Verdict
