Step into Sultans of Shave and you’ll find yourself greeted by warm wooden finishings and old-school barbershops seats. Inspired by the traditional upscale barbershops in London, this one has received rave reviews for their pampering treatments over the years, and has since expanded to three outlets. However, Sultans of Shave has also garnered its fair share of complaints when it comes to customer service. Recently, they have improved much. Our experience with them though is pretty consistent and pleasurable, and hence it is our in our Singapore best barbershops list. Barbering is one of the oldest trades around, and Auttocutt’s old-school interior, which features vintage bikes and automobile signs, adds a nostalgic touch that gentlemen are digging. In fact, the barbershop is so popular in the neighbourhood they’re located in that you’d be hard pressed to find an available walk-in slot — do book your appointment in advance. And don’t leave without picking up an O’Boy Hair Pomade or two from them!

So what exactly is it about Splice that has made it so popular with its well-groomed clientele? Posh deco and convenient location aside, gentlemen were mostly impressed with by the barbers’ attention to detail and service. Useful haircare and styling tips were also a plus.
