Introduction
Ever since the success story of the California based Dollar Shave Club (a subscription plan for shaving), there were a lot new shave clubs in the market. However, not many survived. At this point of time, the ones that are still standing strong a part from Dollar Shave Club are Harry’s, and Gillette (and maybe Bic’s Shave Club). Mind that all of these are manual razors and not your safety razors or electrical ones (see the difference here). In Singapore, I have noticed a few popping out and lately Click “N” Shave caught my attention. Well, I have been using Gillette Fusion ProShield Razor for the longest time, I thought why not give this local brand a try for a much affordable price point.
Launched in 2017, Click “N” Shave aims to provide affordable quality shaving tools with excellent service. Stripping down all the unnecessary marketing dollars and middle men, they were able to cut the cost significantly. On top of this, they are a firm believer giving back to the community where 10% of the revenue donated to children in need access of education – specifically to the Students Care Service. So, let’s dive in to see how their products performed ;)

Design & Material
For the handle, it does actually weigh lighter than Gillette Fusion ProShield Razor. For personal preference, I prefer it to be heavier as it helps shaving to be smoother without having to apply too much pressure. The handle is made of metal-coasted plastic with rubber grip, designed for your thumb and index finger to have better grip while shaving.
For it’s cartridges, it comes with 4 rows of sharp Teflon coated stainless steel blades. To ensure smoother shave, it has a Aloe and Vitamin E lubrication strip.
Attaching the blades onto the handle is also very simple. It does have a pivoting head where the blades component is flexible to be pushed backwards when applying pressure onto the a surface. However, it does not have the mechanism of the Flexball Technology to move left and right.
Overall, it feels simple and light.

Performance
For this review, I have used the Rugged and Dapper Shave Cream (this is super dope – review is in progress) as my pre-shave regimen. Do take note my moustache is considered thick and rough.
First, I wash and pat my chin and upper lips with some warm water.
After applying the shaving cream, I slowly glide down my shaver along the direction of my moustache growth. I would say for the first and second shave it feels great. However, in my subsequent shaves, the blades seems to not to be sharp enough for my hair. This has caused some friction during the shave, which I felt my hair is being plucked out, very uncomfortable
The lubrication strip wasn’t as soluble as Gillette’s in my second shave onwards, which might contribute to the not-so-smooth shave.
In terms of closeness of shave, I would say it’s on par with Gillette Fusion ProShield Razor, if not slightly better.

Durability
For a person who shaves every day, I would have to change the blades once ever 2 – 3 days to have a smooth shave.
For the handle, I would change after 6 months as its metal and rubber grip will wear off
Price & Plans
Generally, just for the handle, it costs just SGD $1.
Altogether, they provide 4 types of plans, namely:
The Rhino –
Fresh cartridge every 6 weeks.
SGD $3.50 per cartridge.
Total Spent per Year: $32
The Cheetah
Fresh cartridge every 4 weeks
SGD $3.00 per cartridge
Total Spent per Year: $40
The Tiger
Fresh cartridge every 2 weeks
SGD $2.50 per cartridge
Total Spent per Year: $65
The Gorilla
Fresh cartridge every 1 week
SGD $2.00 per cartridge
Total Spent per Year: $104
Cost
Since I require daily shaves, I have chosen The Gorilla package where I will get fresh cartridge every week where it cost $2 per cartridge with a free handle. That’s around SGD $ 0.29 per shave as compared to Gillette Fusion ProShield Razor‘s SGD $0.54 per shave.
Verdict
Overall, I feel the strong point for Click “N” Shave is its low price point and convenient to use. If you are looking for something quick and easy with normal or fine hair growth, this is your best bet
However, if you have thicker and rougher beards, Gillette Fusion ProShield Razor is better one.
Product aside, I do applaud for their big heart in setting aside of their revenue to give back to the community.
